Funky Friday at Moon on the Water
Grinny Grandad Live + Beatroot Collective DJs

Cleethorpes Jazz Festival and The Beatroot Collective bring the unique sounds of Grinny Grandad to the seaside, as part of the collective’s latest Funky Friday at venue Moon on the Water. This popular series of events combining live music with Beatroot’s DJs will see this York-based band take to the stage in a pre-Glastonbury special, to fuse breaks, swing and ghetto-funk.

Grinny Grandad are enjoying an interesting career, from playing major festivals, Radio 1 sessions, music in Grand Theft Auto games and numerous TV show, to gaining support from the likes of Groove Armada, Craig Charles and Keith Lemon (!). Recently signed to the Freshly Squeezed Music label, the band’s eclectic sound is a highly danceable and infectious brand of subterranean pop that will make you feel great inside.
