Museums at Night

Urban soul legend OMAR will headline a weekend of cultural events in Grimsby when the town’s venues open as part of national initiative Museums at Night.
The soul star will be performing a one-off live show at Grimsby Minster, as part of the forthcoming Museums at Night weekend, which takes place 15 – 17 May.
Local arts organisation The Culture House is delighted to be hosting the amazing jazz/soul/funk star who made his name back in the day but remains an outstanding current artist, on Friday 16 May.
Omar was awarded an MBE last year by Prince Charles and was also the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award by BBC 6 Music DJ Gilles Peterson in January this year.
Probably best known for his 90’s hit, ‘There’s Nothing Like This’, Omar is currently signed to Freestyle Records and released his latest album, called ‘The Man’, in summer 2013.
Charlotte Bowen, Culture House director said:

“This is a really exciting event for Grimsby.
“It promises an unforgettable live music experience in intimate and atmospheric surroundings, with a truly awesome band, backed up by jazz/funk/soul DJs and a support act.

“We’re over the moon to be contributing this event to the Museums at Night weekend, when there will be lots on offer for all ages – it’s a really varied programme.”

Tickets are very limited – £15 / £10 students – and go on sale on Tuesday 15 April at 9am.
