The tide has turned from focusing on the town’s ‘fishing past’ to it becoming the home of global-leading green industries, as well as continuing to be a hugely significant hub for seafood production – feeding the UK.

A project conceived, developed and originally commissioned in 2022, Our Future Starts Here is a bold, transformational and future-facing project which has recently secured £1.4m from the National Lottery Community Fund to make a difference over five years.

This evolved partnership project runs to 2030 and will host major national touring artworks and installations, while supporting local artist commissions and offering community activities, all centred around a shared journey celebrating our region and appreciating the world around us.
