Grimsby Minster & St James Square, Grimsby
Our Future Starts Here is a new project for Grimsby, exploring issues of our time, through an innovative arts and culture programme.
Commissioned as part of the Grimsby Creates programme that is funded as part of The Cultural Development Fund by Arts Council England, Our Future Starts Here is produced by The Culture House, in collaboration with local and national partners including Ørsted, Grimsby Creates, Arts Council England, Without Walls, Hemingway Design, Future Everything, myenergi and Smarter Energy NEL.
“Attracting such a high volume of visitors means that we continue to build local audiences for and engagement in ‘culture’ in a town that needs it, while evidencing high demand for this kind of activity in future.”
Our recent endeavours in the form of cultural development together with extensive regeneration work spearheaded by North East Lincolnshire Council have contributed to increasing cultural opportunity for both residents and visitors.
Having already established a strong foundation and base level of audiences and participants, from 12 years of delivery, we wanted to take local people on a journey – to help them begin to understand Grimsby’s new position as home to world-leading green industries, while exploring issues that matter to us all, including climate change and well being, in order that as a town we are able to join, or even lead in these vital conversations.
