Picnic In

The Park

Part of our long running summer programme, Picnic in the Park takes place on Sunday afternoons in August, within the beautiful surroundings of People's Park - a Victorian park in central Grimsby.

This free summer programme brings People’s Park’s under-used bandstand to life with national, regional and local live music, inviting residents and visitors of all ages to come along, relax, bring a picnic and enjoy. The programme celebrates local talent, hosting young musicians, local bands and choirs and enables residents to experience new and familiar sounds across world music, jazz, classical, indie and more.

The perfect intergenerational event that anyone can access and where children and families can also enjoy a range of nature activities.

Sundays in August 2025

We’re thrilled to be rolling out another brilliant summer programme in August 2026, over five summer Sundays starting Sunday 2 August (right after Everybody Loves the Sunshine). Come along, bring a blanket and a picnic and enjoy some relaxed time with family and friends, or just come along solo and feel safe in the comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. As always, we will have an ice cream van and the cafe at People’s Park will be serving drinks and snacks throughout the day.

Expect a varied and vibrant mix of amazing local talent, visiting bands, live sounds and fun for all ages.
