As we wind down from Summer, we have several live music events in the pipeline taking place in The Living Room. The Living Room is an intimate 25-seater space inviting you to experience diverse culture, up close and personal.
It’s essentially a project that’s purposely designed to connect us through creativity and to showcase and celebrate talent as well as to explore ideas and share interests. We’re endeavouring to bring something new or just create a space for deeper appreciation.
Launched in 2024, to date the Living Room has hosted West End vocalists, live electronic and experimental music, quality live jazz, ‘stripped back’ indie sets and fun-filled Edinburgh Festival type theatre shows – all including local talent – and even a Norwegian cellist (accompanied by piano) sharing sounds inspired by natural landscapes.
We’ve hosted ace DJ nights, providing space for some of the areas music mixers to get back on the decks with an intimate audience, artist Q&As and workshops for families creating flags inspired by our coast. On top of all this, we’ve been loving hosting the Music Meet Up there, with many of the area’s musicians attending to learn from local, regional and national guest speakers.
We’re now entering into a season of hosting upcoming and established jazz / experimental / folk artists Kindelan and Alice Kim plus more through a partnership with music development organisation Jazz North.
